Please find below a link to a leaflet on Parentline that will be another support for families across Aberdeen City. The information below is from Aberdeen City Council:
This is our digital family support, usually run by volunteers but due to COVID -19 our staff are running this through this period where demand is increasing for the more vulnerable families especially, it’s a website, help line, text and webchat providing free emotional and practical support 7 days a week. Already we are seeing a huge increase to the website and families calling the support line about the virus. Parents worried about how they will cope with money worries or managing the children 24/7, kinship carers concerned for their own health and mental wellbeing concerns for parents escalating. Parentline will be a calm and reassurance support for families in the months ahead.

Lord Provost Hardship Fund
The Lord Provost is to launch a fund to support individuals and families affected by COVID-19. The initial fund is £100k but it is anticipated that this will be matched by the Common Good Fund and added to by other funding streams. Individuals and families will be able to apply for themselves online – or they can phone the ACC Crisis Support Line 0800 0304 713 to access funds. The funding criteria will be:
- People suffering financial hardship as a result of COVID-19
- People whose income has been directly affected by COPVID-19 – a reduction of 50% or more of household income
- Individuals with an income of less than 20k
- Families with an income of less than 30k
- Other support options must have been explored
- People can only apply once every 31 days
The maximum for an individual application will be £200 and for a family £300.
